Winning at Fourth Grade

There is nothing like leveling up your fourth grade game by going to a college campus and learning from professors and students. Students at Brookwood Elementary came to Dalton State pumped and ready to learn. Here is what volunteers, students, and teachers had to say about their day at Dalton State.

“Being at Dalton State and learning about plants, birds, and turtles made me feel like a real college student!” said Jacey.

“The fourth graders were very intelligent and curious about science. At the end of their trip, they shared with me their interest of becoming scientists in the future,” said Annalia Ramos, who is a Biology major at Dalton State that volunteered to help with the students. “They asked me questions about my research and my peers' research. They were eager, thrilled, and fascinated about lakeshore and DSC!”

“It was fantastic to watch them experience learning outside of our classroom,” said Vicki Crane, who is a student teacher from Dalton State and currently in her field placement with Brookwood Elementary. “Thank you for another great experience DSC!”

“I got to learn about the different species we have at Lakeshore. I really enjoyed going to Dalton State,” said Jacob, a fellow student at Brookwood Elementary. “I’d like to attend Dalton State one day!”
